There are no Silicon Valley celebrities on our leadership team. We operate out of Pittsburgh, a city rich in manufacturing history and a modern day center of technology innovation. Many of us worked together at FreeMarkets, where we helped pioneer novel approaches to strategic sourcing during the dotcom heyday. We have banded together at Directworks (formerly Co-eXprise) with a singular focus: to create sourcing solutions focused on the complex needs of global manufacturers.
Greg provides guidance for all company operations and works closely with the leadership team to set the strategic direction of Directworks. He brings 25 years of experience in enterprise software, strategic sourcing, manufacturing, and supply chain operations to his position.
Before becoming President in 2011, Greg was the EVP of Sales and Marketing at Directworks. Prior to joining Directworks, Greg was a Director at Tenzing Consulting, where he led supply chain transformation engagements at Fortune 500 and private-equity portfolio companies. Greg’s enterprise software experience includes sales and operations roles at SmartOps, the market leader in enterprise inventory optimization solutions, and FreeMarkets (Ariba/SAP), the pioneer in global B2B e-sourcing solutions. Greg’s early career included manufacturing leadership roles at GE and PPG. Greg holds a BS in Engineering from Alfred University.
Outside of work, Greg serves as a Director on the Community Leadership Board for the American Diabetes Association of Western Pennsylvania. In his spare time, you can find Greg stealing away to the beach with his family, perfecting his grilling skills, and pursuing his passions for high performance cars and classic rock music.
Vice President of Sales
Tim's ability to build and manage Directworks' sales team and solidify partnerships with customers is driven by his infectious passion and optimism. Tim is responsible for all commercial operations and driving company growth through customer acquisition. Since joining Directworks in 2006, Tim has established many of the customer partnerships that are the foundation of Directworks' success today.
Tim has more than 12 years of experience in supply chain solution sales, and has worked in both direct sales and account management roles. He has worked almost exclusively with the discrete manufacturing industry; including Fortune 500 customers in the Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Consumer Products, and Diversified Manufacturing industries. Prior to Directworks, Tim worked for supply chain software solution providers Ariba, First Index and FreeMarkets. Tim began his career as an engineer for US Department of Defense research organizations including the Naval Research Laboratory and the Naval Surface Warfare Center.
Vice President of Product Management & Marketing
Joe brings a passion for problem solving and seasoned vision for advancement to product management, marketing, and overall product strategy for Directworks. As a recovering mechanical engineer, knowing that his work helps manufacturing companies succeed gets him out of bed each morning. Joe's experience of more than 13 years is a solid blend of engineering, marketing, and product management, resulting in a singular focus on delivering market-driven technology solutions.
Prior to joining Directworks, Joe held product management and marketing leadership roles at Selectica, Arena Solutions, and Ariba, and project management, IT, and engineering roles at Bechtel - each experience sharpening his skills to become a leader in product management and marketing.
Vice President of Customer Success
Tim leads the team responsible for ensuring that customers have the best possible experience when using our software, from initial training to consulting to ongoing support. Tim enjoys taking on the challenges of our customers, understanding the complexity of each business, and providing a solution to their individual needs.
With over 15 years of experience, Tim has led strategic sourcing and global operations teams, providing consulting services to customers in spend management and supply chain operations at Ariba and FreeMarkets. Prior to that, he was an engineer at Westinghouse where he was awarded for his excellence in engineering design creativity.
Tim's childhood expertise in Lego construction led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and an MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. When Tim's not working, you can find him spending time with his family, training for triathlons, or bluffing his way through a hand of Texas hold 'em.
Vice President of Research and Development
As Vice President of Research and Development, Derek leads a team of creative and talented developers - building software products that enable manufacturers to take their products from the drawing board to the show room in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Derek oversees all software engineering functions including research, development, quality engineering, and technical strategy.
He brings more than 15 years of experience designing and building software solutions, with extensive expertise in engineering management at Lightfoot, Inc. and Nokia. As Director of Research and Development at Lightfoot, Inc., where he was responsible for the company's robotic solution, Derek learned the significance of a good business plan and the importance of articulating "big" ideas well.
Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida where he put himself through school by working a number of different jobs in the service industry. Growing up, Derek aspired to reach the sky as a pilot or astronaut until he discovered the limitless possibilities of computer programming. He wants to be remembered as a great father, husband, friend, and innovative leader in the software industry; though he's hopeful that technology will allow him immortality.
Vice President of Finance
With 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, Joe is the driving force behind all financial and business operations at Directworks, making sure the company has the resources it needs to flourish. Joe is committed to keeping the company growing and financially healthy.
Most recently, Joe served as Senior Vice President at ATM Corporation of America. In this role, Joe honed his management style, allowing his 135 employees to 'own' their job and rally around a common goal. Prior to working at ATM, Joe held numerous strategic and leadership positions at companies such as Marconi, FORE Systems, and Federated Investors.
Taking inspiration from his favorite movie, Slapshot, Joe was a member of the 1985-1986 Pennsylvania State Hockey Championship Team, and was also a linesman in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and a referee in the Roller Hockey International League (RHI). Joe holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Management Information Systems from Duquesne University.
Director of Product Management
As Director of Product Management, Stacy drives the product roadmap for Directworks by pursuing market requirements and working closely with customers and partners. Her passion for identifying the unmet and unarticulated needs of manufacturers drives the company vision for a market-driven product line.
Prior to Directworks, Stacy led the product management team for IBM’s Big Data product line, InfoSphere Data Explorer. She joined IBM as part of the acquisition of Vivisimo, where she spent 9 years growing the company’s solution as a leader in the enterprise search market. Stacy graduated from Allegheny College with degrees in Computer Science and Managerial Economics. She also holds an MBA from the Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
